Sora's Shoes Tutorial by makeshiftwings30 Sora's Shoes Tutorial by makeshiftwings30
WARNING: BIGGEST FILE EVAR.

Here's the tutorial I did for my shoes. Enjoy. If you have any questions, just ask.

Forgot to add the zipper link!
[link]
Buy the one without the pully thing.
Edit:
I don't remember this site having different lengths when I bought mine. I measured my shoe, though, and I used around 14" of the zipper. I have very small feet, though, (I can't remember if I bought a size 5 or 6 in the Converse), so the length you need to buy all depends on your shoe size. I would get ATLEAST 18" to be safe, but again, it all depends on your shoe size.

what do you mean? use normal shoes as the base? you should use a shoe with a high top because it's easier to build a base on, but i'm sure you could use a normal shoe and still achieve the height somehow.

oh, i don't see why not.. although they are somewhat awkward to walk in, and depending on how sturdy/well you make them, they may have a lot of wear and tear after a while.

Was it hard to walk in them? Like, how difficult was it to walk around? lol I've been looking around for a tutorial & so far this one was the best one I've found that doesn't involve searching for clown shoes..

not TOO bad. it is a little awkward because they're so large in the front and upholstery foam doesn't bend a lot.. but it's definitely manageable.

Okay then. I can handle that I think.. Thanks! ^-^ It really the best tutorial so far.. And it seems like the easier one to do compared to the other few tutorials I've found.

thanks for the tutorial it looks really awesome. I do have a question. What kind of fabric did you use?

I think I just used the same suiting fabric I used for the rest of my cosplay. I'd suggest using a twill or a non-stretch suiting fabric.

Hi, me again, I was wondering if you knew maybe the exact dimensions of the amount of upholstery foam I need? I'm heading to JoAnnes today :meow:

The foam I used was 3" thick. The length you need really depends on your shoe size, but I'd get atleast a foot and a half.

These are amazing! Definitely the most realistic Sora shoes I've ever seen. I'm really excited to try my hand at making them.

Also, what length of zipper did you buy ?
